We all know how quickly summer seems to disappear, so why not make it more memorable this year by hosting a summer party to remember?
With the date set, here are some top tips to get the party started. But remember, whether it’s a party for 12 or 50, it’s all about catching up with people you love and making memories.
Adopt a theme
You could go vintage, tropical, or even transform your garden into a music festival – but always let people know if they’re expected to dress for the occasion!
A must at any party and the more the merrier. If you can find solar fairy lights these give you much more flexibility as you don’t need to worry about mains power. But remember, put them up a few days before so they can soak up those rays of sunshine.
Simple and very effective – let your guests know what they’ll be eating by creating your very own menu board. Perfect for explaining vegetarian or vegan options, or offering gluten-free options, a chalkboard can be easily made with a piece of plywood and a can of blackboard paint. It’s then just a case of perfecting your calligraphy skills.
If you’re planning a BBQ an easy and fun way to serve up your hot dogs is to use coffee filter papers. An idea loved by adults and kids alike.
Another BBQ top tip is to add sprigs of sage to your fire pit or BBQ (after cooking) to keep those mosquitos at bay.
Alternatives to conventional fizzy drinks will be hugely appreciated by your non-drinking guests. Pitchers of fruit infused waters not only look stunning but taste totally delicious and show you’ve considered the needs of all your guests. Why not try mixing cucumber, lime, strawberry, and mint? Or orange, blueberry, and basil? Simply mix all the ingredients in a jug of filtered water and infuse at room temperature for no more than two hours. After that, pop in the fridge until the party starts. Full details and other delicious combinations can be found here.
Creating a drinks station enables your guests to help themselves and gives you time to enjoy the party. Well stocked with glasses, ice, and straws, as well as a couple of Tasty Colour corkscrews and bottle openers and you’ll be hosting the party of the season.
Alternatively, give your wheelbarrow a good clean, fill it with ice and bottles and you’re ready to go.
With products available on-line or in-store Brabantia’s Tasty Colours collection now features 65 bright, practical and stylish utensils for use in the kitchen, garden and at summer parties.
