Welcome to the final #LoveToGive Design Insights Interview for this year. For this special edition, we welcome inspirational mum, Lisette Kaptein from De Kleine Rotterdammer. Her blog reviews super cool locations to visit in Rotterdam as well as; events, fashion and provides fab interior design inspiration. I guess…we better get discussing!
Yes I do! But to be honest, it’s the recipe of my mum. She prepares the best meatloaf in the world with fresh herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. Can’t wait to eat this again this Christmas!
What are your top tips for creating a stylish yet festive home?
Keep it simple. I believe that less is more and that details can make a difference, for example, a nice Christmas tree with only a few colors in it. Furthermore, I like to use a lot of candles and cushions. They just give me this special winter season feeling.
Do you have any festive DIY decoration ideas to share?
We have some wooden shelves in our living room. I like to change the items on it once a month. And with the festive season, all items on the shelves should be in the Christmas theme. Not really a DIY, but very easy to fix and nice as well!
What’s your ultimate tip for hosting and entertaining in the holidays?
Give your guests the feeling that you really appreciate them and that you’re happy they could come over to celebrate with you. Buy them little but personal presents, buy their favorite drinks and make sure their favourite music is part of your playlist.
And we had to ask…What is your favourite Brabantia product to give (and make someone happy)?
I really hope my husband won’t read this till Christmas, but I will buy him a garlic press. He is a very good cook!
