#LoveColour Design Insights with London photographer Amandine Alessandra!

Welcome to our latest Design Insights interview! For this special #LoveColour edition, we welcome French-Londoner interior photographer Amandine Alessandra from The Interior Photographer. With a love for capturing stylish spaces, we couldn’t wait to get chatting!

When it’s time to refresh your home, what’s your favourite colour to play with?

Amandine Alessandra

I’m dreaming of a very dark night blue wall at the moment. I love how it absorbs the light to create a moody atmosphere; it also does wonders for framed images and works with every colour.

Name a colour or hue that represents you!

Somewhere between pink and orange: coral!

What’s your favourite in-style colour combination this season?

I’ve recently seen a surprising rust, verdigris, sage palette with gold details in a mainly oat living room that looked amazing and really unusual; perfect for that cosy autumn mood. I also admire how some designers can create a stylish but warm atmosphere with red furniture against Prussian blue walls. Such a risqué combination, but I do feel envious when it works!

Where do you tend to add a touch of colour in your home?

Our living area is open plan, so mainly muted with toned-down whites, greys and sage, with some spots of bright colours here and there, in a lampshade or a framed print!

What’s the best way to be bold and bright whilst remaining super-stylish with colours?

Remain quite neutral with furniture colour and highlight with accessories like cushions, throws, vases and plant pots for a seasonal update!

Get some colour! On the topic on fun and funky colours… what’s your favourite from our new collection of bin colours?
The pink one!

Quick fire round!

Shamelessly bold prints or intricate patterns?
– Bold, always!

Complimenting or contrasting colour combinations?
– Contrasting

Natural hues or bolshie brights?
– Natural hues with a few bright highlights!

Bright and airy or cosy and atmospheric?
– Bright and airy!
