This week we are happy to catch up with Laurence Windels, talented interior design and art blogger and founder of the super-stylish W District blog.
Here she talks about design influences, her ambitions and her ‘go to’ design crush!
What’s going to be hot in interiors in 2016?
Believe it or not, but I’m not much of a trend follower. I’m a big fan of ‘less is more’ and love combinations with natural and timeless elements in interiors.
Rose Quartz and Serenity, Pantone’s Colours of the Year – a Hit or Miss? Thanks, but no thanks. Too babyish for me.
What are your ambitions for 2016…in 5 words or less!
Bringing W DISTRICT to another level.
How would you describe your style, in just 3 words!
Aesthetic, minimal & bright.
Who is your ‘Go To’ design crush?
My ‘go to’ design crush is not someone who I actually can go to, but is an interior designer who has always inspired me. I really love the style of Axel Vervoordt and when I go interior shopping, I try to follow his advice.
What are your top 3 favourite interior spaces?
Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona, the house of Dnald Judd in Soho, New York and Villa Savoye by Le Corbusier near Paris.
Reflecting back on 2015 what was your defining interiors moment?
When I heard that my blog W DISTRICT was nominated for the Weekend Blog Awards in the Deco & Design category.
Your favourite colour from our Tasty Tools collection?
I love the tools in mint.
