It’s time for a brand new edition of our Design Insights Interview! This week we are super excited to welcome Belgian designer, Sarah from inspirational interior blog Coco Lapine Design. Currently living in Berlin, Sarah uses her blog to showcase all that inspires her! Let’s take a look at her world:
We are huge fans of your stylish blog, where do you seek inspiration? I find inspiration in magazines, on blogs, pinterest, instagram, design fairs, exhibitions… you name it. I’m always on the look out for new and exciting interiors and design that inspire me and could potentially inspire my readers.
What is your favourite room in the home and why? I think it’s our living room. In the winter I really like to cuddle up in the couch, read a book or watch TV. I think it’s the cosiest corner of our home and I feel very much at home there. It has a combination of modern furniture and a coffee table that I inherited from my grandmother when she passed away. I really like that I have a piece of her in our home.
Which three interiors products do you believe can transform a room? I believe in picking out nice basic furniture, which you don’t get tired of. This way you only have to invest once in your interior and you can keep changing and upgrading it over time by adjusting the smaller things like textiles, accessories and lighting. I think a nice wool carpet, a pendant light and some pillows really can do a lot for a room.
What advice would you give to our readers who are looking to refresh their home interiors? As also mentioned in the previous question, invest in some neutral furniture pieces you really like and be more adventurous in the accessories. If you are not sure if a certain style or trend is for you, start with a small item and see how it transforms your home. I think it’s also very important to take your time and get to know your style and see what works in your home.
We’re excited to know of any upcoming projects you have! What’s in store for the future? I have some more interior stylings lined up for the upcoming months which I’m very excited about and I will also introduce quite a few new items in my shop. I wish I had more time though, but I guess I’m not the only one.
And lastly…(cheeky I know!) what’s your favourite Brabantia product and why? I have yet to purchase my first Brabantia product, but there are some pretty good looking ones on the website I must say.
