It’s time for our exclusive hot-off-the-press design insights interview! This week we welcome inspirational French blogger, Aurélie from Blueberry Home. We are huge fans of her stylish blog and the beautiful images she shares. Let’s get an insight into her world:
What inspired you to delve into blogging and how did you get started? I have always been passionate about decoration. When I was younger I wanted to be an interior designer but I took another road while keeping this passion in my head. Looking at the different influential blogs, my geek persona told me “why not you?” and I created my blog! It’s been 3 years now since Blueberry Home was created and this is where I share my inspirations, my favourites, and my deco tips.
How would you describe your interior style? My interior style is inspired by a lot of trends: Scandinavian, 2nd life, with some poetic aspect.
Which room in the home do you enjoy designing and styling the most and why? The living room because it’s the room where we arrive home, where we welcome our friends and where we are the most! But I confess I do get a lot of pleasure in decorating my daughter’s room, it was my principal activity at the end of my pregnancy 😉
Which trend are you most excited about working with this year? Without hesitation, the ethnical trend mixed with Palm Spring desert inspiration along with some Scandinavian touches! You will get a sneak peek on my blog soon!
Which colour combinations are your favourite to work with? White, aged colours, and wood.
What are your favourite materials to work with? A little of everything: crochet, linen, wood, rattan…
Which 3 objects do you believe have the ability to completely transform a room? The couch (it gives the deco style), the luminaires (for lights) and a vase with flower (to bring life in the style).
What advice would you give to our readers looking to refresh their interiors? Inspire yourself through Pinterest, blogs, magazines and copy again and again!
Do you have any upcoming exciting projects? I’m restyling the living room, you will discover it shortly I hope!
