Wow – what a day! If anyone attending today’s Meet the Blogger event wasn’t an expert in lifestyle blogging, they certainly will be now.
More than a hundred interior design and lifestyle bloggers from across the world gathered at the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam to network, share ideas and hear from some of the biggest bloggers in the business. And Brabantia was absolutely thrilled to be one of the event sponsors.
The event opened with an inspiring talk by Frida Ramstedt, creator of the stylish Swedish interior design blog Trendenser. Frida provided incredibly useful and practical advice on turning a blog into a money-making business.
Our favourite of Frida’s tips was about finding your passion: “If you want to know where your heart is look to where your mind goes when it wanders…”
Following a lively panel discussion with leading lifestyle bloggers, Heleen van Gent from Flexa ColorLab gave an insightful presentation on how they work with colour specialists to understand and develop new international colour trends. We’re sure every delegate left the session buzzing with ideas and keen to repaint their homes!
Following the inspirational half of the event, things turned more practical and educational. Brabantia hosted two popular workshops.
Designer and artist Joran van der Haar, the man behind our London Retro Bin, together with Brabantia’s CEO Tijn van Elderen, explored the concept of beautiful useful design: what elevates a useful product into a beautiful product? Tijn also talked about ways in which lifestyle bloggers can get involved in BrabantiaLife.
Yvonne Eijkenduijn, well-known for her gorgeous Yvestown blog, provided a hands-on workshop on the art of product photography. Yvonne started by talking through some beautiful shots she has taken in her home featuring the I’ve Bin Romantic Brabantia Retro Bin and Cherry Blossom ironing table, followed by a live demonstration where she styled and photographed a Brabantia kitchen organiser. She also talked about the ins and outs of blog sponsoring and how to approach sponsors with proposals for mutually beneficial opportunities.
Everyone came away from the event literally buzzing with ideas to put into practice. Brabantia would like to thank all the Meet the Blogger event organisers, in particular Liselore Stuut and Kirsten Jassies.
