Each week the team at Brabantia Life will be giving you the lowdown on our top picks for hot fashion, interior design and chic household trends.
This week Love tweeted a page from the April issue of Vogue containing info on the collaboration. The line hits the shops in May, and it’s rumoured the collection will feature antique-finish pewter motifs and feathers hanging from brass-plated medicine wheels!
We loved St. Patrick’s Day and our celebration of the colour Green was top of our list this week! In fashion, interiors, design and homeware (like our superb Colour Your Bin in green), green works everywhere. Last month’s analysis by the colour experts at Pantone showed that green was the Number One colour, 15.23 percent of designers will be using a deep teal in their collections—a colour they describe as “a strong, blue-toned green suggesting ocean depths and…the sky as daylight descends into darkness.”
As we all know here at Brabantia, the Netherlands has made a habit of producing some of the design world’s biggest names. This month, at London’s Selfridges the EveryDayDutch pop-up shop-cum-exhibition, curator and Wallpaper* contributor Jane Withers has shipped over products by designers from Design Academy Eindhoven. Exhibits include Florike Martens’ ‘Bicycle’, a comprehensive answer to picnicking; Eveline Visser’s ‘Bird City’, a modern aviary solution and Dirk van der Kooij’s series of ‘Endless’ chairs, using a retired robot taken from a Chinese production line.
The pop-up shop-cum-exhibition runs until 27th of this month, timed to coincide with the completion of Selfridges’ takeover of Dutch department store De Bijenkorf.
