How to save 213kg of CO2 each year using a Brabantia rotary dryer

Spring is just around the corner, so it’s time to forget the hot air and spin, and start thinking about the environment and your pocket too! Continuing with our theme of environmental awareness, we are voting out the tumble dryer and bringing in the rotary dryer!

We were heartened to read Jaff’s Juicy Bits blog who has calculated that with the electricity saved by swapping your tumble dryer for line drying for six months every year, you can drive 1600 miles in a new electric car!

It’s been estimated that by not using a tumble dryer the average UK household will save £75 per year.

Britain’s tumble dryers use more than £1.1 million of electricity every day – enough energy to power 2,650 homes for a year (if they didn’t have tumble dryers of course!)

If you are feeling guilty about shunning the tumble dryer, why not follow in the footsteps of Nottingham artist Saira Lloyd who took fluff from her tumble dryer and turned it into works of art!
